Hello there! My name is Khurram Ali, and I am the founder and owner of Lafacil Solutions in Pakistan and Lafacil AS in Norway. Lafacil is a company that I am very excited about. I’ve been a part of many startups, and I’m always looking for new opportunities. I enjoy travelling and meeting new people. Discuss new ideas, try new foods, and learn about new cultures. I believe I have visited around 32 countries to date, despite being ‘only’ 36 years old. (January 20, 2023)
I’ve been running a business since I was 18 and have had the privilege of leading my own finance firm for the past ten years. My work experience has been truly incredible – from being a newspaper boy to working in call centers and taxi driving; it’s provided me with an incredible opportunity to learn about people, better understand them, and explore new opportunities. I’ve spent the last ten years working with knowledgeable finance professionals and learning a lot. I’ve held a variety of leadership positions, including training manager, sales manager, and marketing and communications director. With this knowledge and experience, I believe I have developed a personality that enjoys everyone’s company. Everyone’s work is exciting and joyful to me.
As an entrepreneur and finance professional with over ten years of experience running multiple businesses, I’ve always been motivated by a desire to improve and grow my companies. But when I was faced with a new challenge – finding the right IT resource – I knew I had to think outside the box.
Almost every company I spoke with was dealing with the same issue. The IT skills shortage appeared to be a widespread issue in Norway, with small and medium-sized businesses like mine being particularly hard hit. Large corporations had the resources to hire young students right out of high school, leaving fewer qualified candidates for the rest of us. Many IT professionals had many options and chose to work for more well-known or prestigious companies, making it more difficult for smaller businesses to compete. As a result, smaller businesses frequently had to pay more for the same IT resources, resulting in lower-quality employees. To make matters worse, many IT professionals who began their careers at startups left for larger tech firms within a year or two, causing disruptions and limiting the startups’ ability to retain talent.
Something had to change, I knew. As a result, in December 2021, I made the difficult decision to leave Norway and relocate to Pakistan to launch my own company, Lafacil. I was drawn to Pakistan by the abundance of talent and expertise available, and I was determined to use my skills and experience to assist other startups and small and medium-sized businesses that were having difficulty finding the right IT talent.
I’ve been astounded by the abundance of qualified IT professionals willing to work on a project-by-project basis since moving to Pakistan. This is a game changer for small and medium-sized businesses like mine, which frequently struggle to afford the cost and commitment of full-time employees. Lafacil connects these businesses with the exact skill sets they require for their projects, and they only pay for the time they require. It is a low-cost and convenient solution that has already assisted many startups and small and medium-sized businesses in their success.
(I’ll write about my challenges in Pakistan in another blog.)
I’m proud of what Lafacil has accomplished thus far, and I’m excited to see where the future takes us. I hope you will consider working with us if you are a startup or a small or medium-sized company in need of IT talent. We can overcome the IT skills shortage and help your business thrive if we work together.
I intend to write about my experiences and challenges of moving to Pakistan and starting a new business in a foreign country in my blogs. I’ll also discuss issues that are important to me, such as going to the gym more frequently and eating healthier. Sustainability is also a top priority for me, and I’m excited to share how I’m incorporating it into my personal life and at Lafacil. In addition, I want to show the world the beauty and hospitality of Pakistan.
Because I’m not good at writing, I’m using ChatGTP, and since Google has banned it from SEO, I need to figure out how to write with AI without letting Google know. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. My goal is also to improve my English writhing.
